Sports+ has some of the most popular sportswriters in the business, but it's apps needed to improve how found, and consumed it.
Working closely with Gannett's wonderful in-house teams, a custom iOS Widget was designed, allowing fans to customize the content they love, and have it delivered directly to their iPhone Home Screen. Fans could control the size, and placement of the widget, and decide when custom push notifications were delivered. The U.S. Open was our first opportunity to help Sports+ content stand out.
As a result, the Sports+ app was enhanced to give fans new ways to choose the sports they loved, which resulted in custom content, and news tailored for their interest.
A library of branded photos was also curated, and made available exclusively for Sports+ fans across social media.
